About Comfy
Our Vision About Comfyware Ltd. Management In the CommunityContributing to the Community
Comfy is committed to the well being and equal opportunities of children around the globe, and to bridging the digital divide. In order to make a positive, lasting difference on the community, we dedicate our time and energy to create partnerships that will have a valuable impact on the lives on young children. We align our giving to our expertise in key focus areas, and our first priority is to educational and technological programs that prepare children for the challenges in the 21st century.
Comfy has a history of partnering with the nonprofit organization (NGO's) to promote a wide range of causes which include donations to international communities as well as to our local communities. These contributions include a donation to the "Computer for Every Child" Organization, sponsored by the Prime Minister Bureau, aiming at equal opportunities for all kids population in Israel and helping to expand the population of kids that own a computer and use it for educational benefits; our proud donation to the WAF Program (We are the Future), sponsored by the Glocal Forum, whose aim is to set up municipally owned child centers (WAF centers) in conflict areas which provide opportunities and services for children Ages 0-6 in the areas of education, health, nutrition, ICT, sports and arts.
As well as striving to inspire young minds by providing the first and ultimate interactive edutainment solution, Comfy believes that it has a role to play in the wider community. We take this role very seriously and therefore support community organizations, as follows:
The WAF Program
After being approached by the Glocal Forum, Comfy has committed to contribute keyboards and its range of multi-lingual software to 6 centers in conflict and post-conflict areas (in Ethiopia, Sierra Leone, Eritrea, Rwanda, Palestine, Afghanistan). We are the Future program provides a holistic view that will expose children in these centers to the "outside world" , aiding them to become truly world citizens and stamp out of the narrow line of thought that arises in such conflict areas. For this purpose, the program puts strong emphasis on e-education, information and communication technology and this is the place where Comfy has its great impact.
This program is an initiative of the Glocal Forum, the Quincy Jones Foundation and with the support of the World Bank under the leadership of its President James Wolfensohn.
Comfy is pleased to support this opportunity, which will not only provide access and training for computer and internet technologies , but will hopefully have a positive long-term impact on the place children have in a global competitive world. The contribution has been done in 2005 and will continue in 2006.
"Computer for Every Child" Organization
With an aim to bridge the digital divide in Israel, Comfy has created a partnership with The Association of Social Development's "Computer for Every Child" Project, where Comfy will donate thousands of re-furbished keyboards and software to families that have received a donated computer from the Organization. The municipalities of Shlomi, Netivot and Ramat Gan have already received the contribution.
Comfy has initiated this opportunity so that as many toddlers in Israel, coming from families who do not have the financial ability to purchase the Comfy keyboard and software by themselves, will be able to learn and use the computer as well.
Donation to Childrens' Wards in Hospitals
Comfy is always willing to donate its products to children's wards in Hospitals. Amongst children's wards that have already enjoyed the donation are the Pediatric Oncology ward at "Hadassah Ein-Karem" hospital in Jerusalem and Schneider Children's Hospital in Petach Tikva.
